Dear Colleague,

Nucleus 5 Rechargeable Batteries!

It has been one month since Cochlear™ started shipping Cochlear Nucleus® 5 Rechargeable Battery kits to previous recipients of the Nucleus 5 Cochlear Implant System.

To date we have shipped more than 50% of the outstanding orders.  This means we are more than two weeks ahead of schedule!

To ensure that these kits contain the desired color selection(s) and are being delivered to the correct addresses, we have undertaken an extensive outbound phone campaign.  This campaign involves contacting every single recipient (or a caregiver) to verify the data we have on file.

To date, this verification process has been instrumental in maximizing recipient satisfaction and minimizing the burden on you.  Certainly, a lot of credit goes to you for taking the time to fill out the registration cards that we provide in system kits.  Having accurate data on file has helped us to identify recipients who are eligible to receive these new items. At this stage, we have contacted all of the recipients we have on file.  Once we receive confirmation of their contact information we will ship the remaining kits.

HOPE Notes

This week's issue of Audiology Online features an interview with Richard Reed, a musician, Nucleus cochlear implant recipient, and creator of HOPE Notes.  Richard's remarks provide a heart-warming account of his own experiences with "getting music back" as well as what he hoped to accomplish with his music rehabilitation program, a program Cochlear is proud to offer to recipients around the globe.  Our new product, HOPE Notes, has been enthusiastically received at all of the recent consumer and professional meetings including HLAA, AG Bell and CI 2010.  As one of our own employees noted "HOPE Notes opened up music for me and it was fun.  This is a terrific product!"   Please share this link to the Richard Reed Interview at Audilogy online.

HOPE e-News

The HOPE e-news summer issue is available online.   It introduces HOPE Notes (our new music product), the new HOPE website, and re-introduces Phone with Confidence.  Listed at the bottom of this e-news are the first three HOPE Online seminars for the upcoming school year.  Please share the link with professionals, parents and adults and remind people that if they have not gotten this copy in their mailbox, they need to sign themselves up to receive it; sign-up is at the bottom.

Thank you for reading and for your continued support.
