Maximizing Outcomes with Minimal Resources: Tips for Kids with Cochlear Implants without Access to Auditory Therapists

This presentation is parent-focused and filled with therapy ideas and activities that can be used by families working with their young children who are deaf or hard of hearing. A Chinese proverb states, "A parent is worth 10,000 schoolmasters." Keeping that in mind, we address how parents are and can be their children's best and most important teachers and my personal belief that clinicians need to re-focus their efforts in teaching parents how to best teach their children.
