Improving Adult Cochlear Implant Outcomes with Sound and WAY Beyond
Just as it is for a child, rehabilitation for an adult is critical to achieve one’s personal best with a cochlear implant (CI). Auditory training can help improve outcomes in various situations including listening in quiet, using the telephone, enjoying music, and understanding speech in noise. Sound and WAY Beyond™ is a computer-assisted, speech training software package that can be used at home by adults and teens to practice their auditory skills. This seminar reviews the research behind the product and provides an overview of how to use and best benefit from the auditory training tool.
