Course objectives:
This course is designed to provide an integrated approach of anatomy, imaging, technology, variability, surgical dilemmas, solutions, and outcomes for cochlear implant surgery.

Learner Outcomes:

  • Improve efficiency and outcomes of cochlear implant surgery
  • Review common variations of anatomy and surgical technique
  • Understand issues and surgical modifications unique to pediatric cochlear implantation
  • Review pre-operative assessment, intraoperative techniques, and outcomes of cochlear implantation in patients with abnormal anatomy including cochlear ossification and inner ear malformations
  • Review common (and not so common) intraoperative dilemmas and learn strategies to resolve them
  • Review revision surgery

Any cochlear implant surgeon seeking to expand their knowledge base, improve their skills and outcomes, and learn advanced surgical techniques.
